Fiat In The Fashion Mall

I've always wanted to get a car before the car became mainstream and while I am in no market for a new vehicle the Fiat dealership in the Fashion Mall has me intrigued. With most makes falling in size somewhere between a Mini & a Smart Car; it's a Euro-inspired compact car...making it all the more cooler.

Note: Be sure to stop by the dealership and ask for the Fiat Flipbook, it is so fun and kids love it!

Sephora Feathers

Feather hair accessories have become quite the trend with salons around Indy literally selling out of the more permanent versions. While I am a skeptic of the DIY versions of these -- I am intrigued by the Sultra Feathers ($25) I spotted at Sephora. Seemingly higher quality than most and while the permanent salon version is great; the ability to remove for certain occasions seems practical.

Thoughts? I'm leaning towards the Sun Kissed color combination...

A Black Summer

Black is my go to color, I actually have long ago sworn off most anything brown related for fear that my go to color may clash (I'm starting to lighten up on that based on some of the camel colored browns bags that look so sophisticated...). I truly can't think of a more perfect outfit than a v neck black t, dark jeans and some great accessories.

I decided to put together a cute weekend combo courtesy of Banana Republic & Anthropologie.

At Banana I got this simple, but well detailed Alex lace trim v-neck ($39.50)& then to add some color & energy - this perfect striped scarf from Anthro (Fully Striped Scarf in Black - $38).

I adore the idea of scarves in the summer, as backwards as it sounds -- but with most restaurants & malls being freezing, it's a good way to keep some warmth indoors and can be easily taken off and tied on your purse when outside.

Uncharacteristic Dress? Thank You Very Much!

I love black, and generally am not a big all-over pattern fan; but for some reason it was love at first sight with this dress by Jack & Ginger from Nordstrom ($128). I recently wore it for a rehearshal dinner paired with some cork NineWest wedges. It is silk, lightweight and truly flattering --- the sleeves seem a bit awkward at first, but just go with it, it works great. Also, the neckline is a bit deeper than appears on the model shot...

A New (Welcome) Addition - Lululemon

My excitement for Lululemon to come to the Fashion Mall is truly unmatched. I've loved Lululemon for years and it was one of the few places that I still HAD to make it to on trips to Chicago or New York -- no longer,as Indianapolis will soon have it's own full sized store. The company has enticed Indy shoppers with it's Broad Ripple Showroom as well as trunk shows at many of the higher end yoga and exercise studios around town. Still not sure on the Fashion Mall store's open date...

You can get ready for high end, high quality exercise/weekend apparel with a super helpful and community minded company & staff behind it all (you must check out their awesome manifesto). The showroom has been and continues to offer free classes to the community and assumptions are the new full sized store will as well.

Their yoga pants are legendary and the racer back style tanks in seasonal colors are another must have. They also feature some of the nicest men's running apparel around.

I actually visited the showroom on my way to the Fashion Mall this weekend and got this amazing bag -- plan to use it for work (it's a bit oversized, but not ridiculous looking) as well as quick trips. It will be a lifesaver on my upcoming trip to NYC.
